Je m’appelle Immanuel. A 32-year-old (motion) graphic designer that doesn’t speak a word of french. Based in Amsterdam but originally from Warnsveld, Gelderland, The Netherlands. You may call me an art school dropout (ArtEZ Arnhem and Rietveld Amsterdam) or just someone who is really passionate and obsessed with graphic design.

I started working for Virtue — VICE’s in-house advertising agency — in 2011. I worked my way up through the ranks to Senior Graphic Designer and can’t imagine myself doing something else. Along the way I found an interest in motion design which slowly grew into an obsession.

In 2018 I thought it was time to do more freelance work besides the full-time job. Although I like working in a team with close bonds in an agency environment, I also like to do things my way. To express myself more freely.

In 2021 I left Virtue and hopped aboard at Dept Agency in Amsterdam as a Senior Visual Designer focussing mainly on brand identities and motion graphics.

Life is more than just graphic design. I also love to collect and play records. Next to my love for rare disco grooves, my latest obsession is all about Japanese music from the last century. You can find my mixtapes on Mixcloud, YouTube and Soundcloud.

Besides music I have a huge craving for food and love cooking it. In the time that is left I’d love to be on my skateboard as much as possible. If you'd like to find out more about me, see more of what I do, or discuss potential commissions, collaborations and opportunities, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

<3,

Immanuel

P.S.: I prefer emails and meetings IRL over a call. Phone-calls just make me awkward. :)
